Mexican percussionist, performed his undergraduate studies at the Conservatory of Amsterdam, Netherlands, graduating with honors in 2007.
Began his studies at an early age in the school of music of UNICACH-Chiapas as part of the main groups of the University. He has been part of “Narimbo Group”, with which he has toured in Mexico, USA, Spain, France, Holland, Germany and Belgium. As a popular musician was part of various ensembles of traditional Marimba-Chiapas and participated in State competitions obtaining top rankings in the various categories, child level, youth and professional; always emphasizing his high quality interpretation of Chiapas folklore.
As marimba soloist participated in the First International Marimba Competition in the city of Hasselt, Belgium being semifinalist; well as in the National Marimba Competition in Chiapas, Mexico, ranking in the top places. While in Holland he studied with internationally renowned masters as Peter Prommel, Jan Pustjens, Victor Oskam, Lorenzo Ferrandiz and Gustavo Gimeno, developing in Orchestral Percussion, Percussion Contemporary, African Percussion, Chamber Music and Percussion Lider Ensemble; he worked with contemporary composers like Ernesto Illescas, Lorenzo Medina, Juan Magdaleno, Rodrigo Tascon, Wim Henderickx, to name a few, who have written pieces for Solo Marimba and Percussion. He has performed at venues such as The Royal Concert-Gebouw Amsterdam Muziek Arena Rotterdam and Utrecht Conservatory, Auditorio Nacional Mexico, etc..
Mtro. Hernandez is currently Director of the School of Music and Professor at the Academy of Marimba and Percussion of UNICACH, director of the percussion ensemble "PercUnicach" and member of “Paax Percussion Ensemble”, with whom he has done extensive work to disseminate mexican music by touring in varios cities in Japan, with 2010, 2011 and 2012 running classical and traditional music for marimba and percussion. He was organizer of the 1st. Latin American Competition "Keiko Abe" and 2nd Latin American jury Marimba Competition and concerts performed within the framework of competition and seminar Ney Rosauro.
